Laser Background, the mind-bending psych pop project of Andy Molholt, drops a new EP called People Person on November 2 via Endless Daze. It’s the follow up to his 2017 LP Dark Nuclear Bogs, and its single “My Song” is a shifty, mutable track driven by an electronic drum kit and punctuated with otherworldly sound effects. Yesterday, a new music video for the song emerged, directed and animated by Michael Chadwick (Molholt’s onetime bandmate in The Armchairs). The visuals are fittingly strange, moving through flimsy realities that shatter within moments of their creation, Molholt’s body-less head a morphing motif that floats through the multiverse.

Laser Background’s EP release show is tomorrow, Friday, November 2 at Jerry’s on Front, featuring special guests Cigarette and Sixteen Jackies. Find more info here. Check out the video for “My Song” below.
