Just Announced: Massive Attack’s Mezzanine anniversary tour will come to The Met this spring

Remember when, a few weeks ago, Massive Attack encoded their 1998 album Mezzanine as DNA and then bottled it into a spray paint to celebrate its upcoming 21st anniversary? That’s an, uh, inventive way to reissue an album to say the least, but if you prefer a more traditional form of album anniversary celebration, good news is coming your way in the form of a tour: Massive Attack will tour Europe and North America throughout the winter and spring, with a show at The Met on March 19. Special guests lined up for the tour include Liz Fraser of Cocteau Twins, who sang on the album.

In addition to the spray paint, the band is also reissuing the album in traditional vinyl and CD packages for the less adventurous among us (or for those who just prefer to listen to music on their record players). Pre-orders can be found here. Tickets go on sale next Friday, November 9. See Massive Attack’s full list of tour dates below and find more information on the XPN Concert Calendar.
