The Rolling Stones are going on a U.S. stadium tour in 2019, and there’s a Philadelphia visit in the cards. After teasing the announcement with their iconic tongue logo showing up in various places around town — we spotted one in South Philly this weekend — today we have word that the band will play Lincoln Financial Field on June 4th, 2019. Tickets go on sale November 30th at 10 a.m., more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
The latest from the Stones is Voodoo Lounge Uncut, a new CD/DVD/LP repackaging of a live show recorded in Miami in 1994, on their Voodoo Lounge tour. They released a blues cover album called Blue & Lonesome in 2016, and in 2012 dropped the 50-song best-of compilation, GRRR! When the latter came out, WXPN crowdsourced its own version of the compilation focusing instead on lesser-heard tracks and deep cuts. Listen to WXPNGRRR! below and get psyched to see the Stones next summer.
