Get psyched for Philly Music Fest with 14 videos from the XPN vaults
The third annual Philly Music Fest kicks off tonight, runs through Sunday, and brings a wall-to-wall lineup of artists with Philadelphia ties to various stages around the city.
Here at WXPN, we’re big fans of this homegrown lineup, and have had the majority of the artists on the bill in the studio or in front of our cameras in some form or another in recent years, from Secret American and Speedy Ortiz to Arnetta Johnson and Arthur Thomas. As we wind up for the festival, we’ve collected some of those sessions for you today.
The festival kicks off with a sold out show at MilkBoy tonight featuring Secret American and Ceramic Animal; it continues at Johnny Brenda’s on Thursday with another sold out show starring Speedy, Sammus, and Remember Sports. Tickets are still available for the festival’s two main days at World Cafe Live with Vacationer, Restorations, Man Man, Sun Ra Arkestra, Thin Lips, Rosali, and more.
