Wednesday night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, musical guest St. Vincent and house band / Philly icons The Roots covered Portishead’s “Glory Box.” The glamorously dark, loungey tune is off the British band’s 1994 debut album Dummy.
St. Vincent’s latest, Daddy’s Home came out in 2021. The artist is in New York City promoting Love Rocks NYC 2023 at the Beacon Theatre tonight, March 9th. The concert benefits God’s Love We Deliver, a nonprofit meal delivery service, and features performances by James Taylor, John Mayer Trio, Sheryl Crow, Mavis Staples, Allison Russell, and The War and Treaty among others.
