On Friday and Saturday night, Philly area bands mewithoutYou and The Menzingers co-headlined a back-to-back stint to a sold out crowd at Union Transfer. The bands kicked off their fall tour earlier this month along with Pianos Become The Teeth and Restorations. Following the release of their latest album Pale Horses, mewithoutYou delivered an energetic, lively performance that left the audience chanting for more. Frontman Aaron Weiss’s captivating lyrics filled the room as he paraded around the stage, swinging his hands into the air and gripping the neck of his guitar, giving us the type of performance his band has become known for. What can you expect from a show by The Last Bison? The bare-feet-stomping, conga line-forming, hummus connoisseur frontman Ben Hardesty will keep you on your feet, you’ll clap, you’ll dance, you’ll be glad you came. Last Thursday night, the eclectic seven piece folk band from Chesapeake, VA gave their Philadelphia audience a performance to remember. They mostly played songs off of their latest album, VA, which was recorded in an A-frame cabin in Virginia last September, as well as their more recently released EP, Dorado.
