The day started when I met up with PUP who were recording a studio session for WXPN’s Friday night show, the Indie Rock Hit Parade.
Exhausted from a show at New York’s Webster Hall the night before, singer-guitarist Stefan Babcock relaxes on the studio floor with photographer Kara Smarsh as the studio is set up.
The Menzingers arrived at Union Transfer around 4 and immediately proceed to unpack all their gear from the tour trailer.
Their instrument cases and amplifiers are lined up on the stage. Now unpacking begins.
Drummer Joe Godino puts together his kit on the riser before sound check starts.
Outside, tour manager Scotty Bell puts the finishing touches on the band’s new trailer. As he ran low on gaffer’s tape, he got creative and put The Menzingers’ logo at the bottom of the gate.
Early-birds to the venue, Lemuria, snuck in a low-key practice in the lobby. [continune]
