Vita and the Woolf’s new Audiotree session sounds great — and there’s a dog

We’re about a month out until the Vita and the Woolf album Tunnels finally drops on June 16, and as admitted in the band’s Audiotree Live session, it’s an LP that’s been a long time coming. The band recorded the session with Audiotree late last month, and it just hit the interwebs this week.

Aside from sounding crisp on a dope tracklist that mixes new tunes and favorites from last year (“Brett,” “Sun Drop,” “Qiet,” “Diamond Hall,” “Feline” and
“Super Ranger”), the band offers a few glimpses into what they’ve been up to in the year since the current lineup fell into place. Continue reading →

Although the Philadelphia Folk Fest is a couple months away, they’ve still got some artists to announce. Thankfully, our good friend Helen Leicht is in on the action, announcing her XPN Local showcase for August 19th from noon to 2 p.m. The showcase (hosted by Leicht) features some of the best up-and-coming locals in the scene, including blues rocker Greg Sover, smooth singer-songwriter Jesse Hale Moore, and electro-rock trio Vita and The Woolf.

Vita and the Woolf have been wowing us with powerful vocals and dark electro beats since we first heard their debut Fang Song. At long last, an official final for-realsies release date of their much anticipated followup LP has been announced. Tunnels will be available on June 16th — a day before they win over the crowd at Firefly Music Festival. On top of this wonderful news, the band also dropped a mind-bending video for their most recent single, “Feline.” Continue reading →

Dark electro-pop duo Vita and the Woolf have a lot of big things happening right now. The Philly band’s new LP, Tunnels, comes out this spring, and they currently have a supporting slot on tour with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, leading to a set at Firefly Music Festival in June. Suffice it to say, Vita and the Woolf are gaining some much-deserved attention. Continue reading →

Bell X1, Vita and the Woolf make a stunning duo at Boot & Saddle

Bell X1 | photo by Joe Del Tufo | moonloopphoto.com

The Bell X1 / Vita and the Woolf tour swung through Philly last night, with Vita getting a strong showing from a hometown crowd in the packed Boot & Saddle. Vita and the Woolf played a strong and especially 80s-infused set, with vocalist Jennifer Pague showing her goth side. They played a strong selection from their excellent forthcoming album Tunnels, due in April. “Brett,” “Qiet,” “Super Ranger” and Mary “have” become live staples, and got the loudest response from the crowd. I could overhear Bell X1 fans comment positively after the Vita set. Big things for this band in 2017, and I look forward to seeing them at Firefly Festival in June. Continue reading →

Philadelphia soul-pop favorites Vita and the Woolf have a busy spring ahead of them, leading up to the April release of their next LP, Tunnels. On January 25th, they head out on a tour of the southeast, later teaming up with Irish pop-rock outfit BellX1 for a run of dates in the northeast in late February. Then, after playing the Savannah Stopover festival on March 10, they connect with Philly art-rockers Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and will open for them for the rest of the month across the midwest and on the west coast.  Continue reading →

Follow Vita and the Woolf on a quest in an abondoned building in new “Qiet” video

Vita and the Woolf | still from video

The music Vita and the Woolf makes has always bursted at the seams with raw, powerful emotion, even when the song title and subject matter suggests otherwise. Their latest single, “Qiet”, for example, is anything but, and now, it’s received an equally arresting music video, which showed up today on Impose. Continue reading →

Vita and the Woolf wrapped up a national tour this past weekend so now all eyes are aimed toward the winter release of TUNNELS, the electro-pop trio’s sophomore LP. Lead single “Brett” is a song we’ve been digging for several months now, and it finally has a companion in the just-released “Qiet.”
