Half of Brooklyn’s Acrylics—whose forthcoming debut full-length Lives And Treasure is being released January 25th on Hot Sand Records—have roots in Philly. Specifically, Molly Shea is from Lansdowne; she went to Friends’ Central School before heading to Oberlin and meeting her band mate Jason Klauber. After Oberlin the duo moved to Brooklyn in 2008 and released a hotly buzzed, critically acclaimed EP called All of the Fire on Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor’s label, Terrible Records.
With 2011 right around the corner, we’re excited for the band’s debut. This new song, “Nightwatch,” has a seriously fine Rumours-era Fleetwood Mac vibe to it that nicely showcases Molly’s dreamy vocals and the band’s hand at writing an infectious pop hook.
