Los Angeles punk legend Alice Bag leads a reading and conversation at Penn’s Kelly Writers House for the second installment of Shifting the Gaze. The recurring event was formed last year as a venue for continued discussion surrounding women in the music industry. After leading the Bags through the early waves of punk and writing a series of books about her experiences, Bag released her debut solo effort last year via Don Giovanni Records. Shifting the Gaze returns to Kelly Writers House with LA punk legend Alice Bag

Founded earlier this year as a forum for continued discussion surrounding women in the music industry, the inaugural Shifting the Gaze event brought together local performers, writers, show bookers, and gear manufacturers for a panel conversation at the Kelly Writers House at the start of 2016. Now the series will get its second installment in early 2017, when Los Angeles artist and activist Alice Bag visits the Penn center on January 25th for a reading and conversation.

Punk rocker, feminist and educator Alice Bag will be headlining tonight’s Treat Y’rself Fest at PhilaMOCA, a benefit for March to End Rape Culture. The all day festival includes an absolutely stacked lineup of 12 local and surrounding area musicians as well as a documentary screening for an event all about safe, inclusive, accessible spaces and self-care.
