Last month at SXSW in Austin, Texas, Amplify Philly convened during SXSW Interactive for three days of networking, cheerleading, panels, and partying from members of Philly’s tech, startup, business, music, and cultural communities. The Amplify Philly “house” took over the Pour Choices Bar and Restaurant in Downtown Austin for three days and nights. Strand of Oaks, Killiam Shakespeare, Great Time and more will play the #AmplifyPhilly showcase at SXSW

The annual SXSW festival is right around the corner, and once again the #AmplifyPhilly showcase is setting up shop on 6th Street in downtown Austin to show off some of the best names in Philadelphia music.

Headlining #AmplifyPhilly, which takes place on Monday, March 11th of this year, is Strand of Oaks, who is just ahead of releasing the new Eraserland LP on Dead Oceans Records. Continue reading →


RECPhilly hosts #AmplifyPhilly SXSW send-off party

As the RECPhilly crew gears up to bring some fresh Philly talent down to Texas for South By Southwest 2016, they teamed up with StartupPHL to host their SXSW send-off party and announce the official talent lineup that will be performing down in Texas this past Thursday at Coda Nightclub.

The night was complete with a photobooth in front of a Philly LOVE sign, a DJ to kick off the night and sponsor giveaways. RECPhilly’s co-founder David Silver along with

Philly Startup Leaders ‘s Yuval Yarden put together a presentation introducing Amplify Philly and how they are working with various sponsors in the Philadelphia community to make this SXSW showcase possible. With an abundance of artists, businesses, sponsors and fans eager to hear who would be representing their city, together the Philly crew was able to get #AmplifyPhilly trending on Twitter in Philadelphia by the end of the night.
