Tonight’s Concert Picks: Beyond The Bars Fundraiser ft The Districts at World Cafe Live, No Brainer Benefit ft Avi Wisnia at Dave and Buster’s

Tonight, a terrific lineup of Philly artists bands together to support Beyond The Bars at World Cafe Live. The organization, which provides musical instruments and lessons to incarcerated youth in Philadelphia, has been around since early 2015, and has found supporters in The Districts, Frances Quinlan from Hop Along, Queen of Jeans, The Bul Bey, Ben Arnold, and Milton. Listen to “Sky Blue Sky,” the samba-inspired new track by Avi Wisnia

“Sky Blue Sky” isn’t just a Wilco album and song, it’s the latest track by Philly jazz and pop singer Avi Wisnia. Released today, the song was inspired by his time in Philadelphia and Rio de Janeiro, and combines a Brazilian samba rhythm and flavor with with folk-like strings that surprisingly (or not) sound beautiful together.  It’s something new and different for Wisnia, and will definitely please those trying to mellow out and enjoy the nice breezes that are sure to come in the upcoming fall months.
