Philly Local Philes: The Swimmers / Little Fevers

Between solo projects and child-rearing, things have been a bit quiet from The Swimmers since the support-cycle for 2009’s excellent nervy new wave offering People are Soft wound down. But the noble foursome that Philebrity once dubbed “the east coast existential pop band” has ganged up again to play this year’s Philly F/M Fest; they’re at Kungfu Necktie on Sat. Sept. 24, and promise old favorites and “new surprises.” Today’s Philly Local Phile takes a guess at what the band could possibly mean by that: we’ve got a brand new remix of their single “A Hundred Hearts” by Fishtown’s Beard-o-Bees (AKA Jesse Miller of Lotus), as well as “The End I Know,” a demo track from head Swimmer Steve Yutzy-Burkey’s new solo venture, Little Fevers.
