Set to release their 14th full-length Black Beehive on February 4th, Colorado blues-rock outfit Big Head Todd and the Monsters have lined up a tour that stops at Union Transfer on January 17th. The band was formed in 1986 but if you think almost three decades of touring and recording has worn them down, check out the live video below, filmed during a concert at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Frontman Todd Park Mohr opens “We Won’t Go Back”with big shreds on a resonator guitar while his band kicks it into high gear behind him. Tickets and information for their all-ages show can be found here.
Earlier today, the folks over at the TLA announced a pair of big shows for early-ish 2012:
Big Head Todd And The Monsters on Thursday, Jan 19, 2012 (tickets go on sale Friday, 11/11, at noon and are $25 adv/$28 DOS), and Nada Surf on Monday, April 9, 2012 (tickets go on sale Friday, 11/11, at noon and are $20 adv/$23 DOS).
Both shows are a long time away, which gives you plenty of time to listen to Nada Surf’s latest single, “When I Was Young,” below.
