It’s been in the works for over a year, and finally Blayer PointduJour of Rockers Galore has shared the band’s newest track “Good Morning.” Accompanied by a video as well, the new release presents a summer banger that drops some nasty raps. Blayer Pointdujour & The Rockers Galore share new video for “Dirty Kompa Party” (playing The TLA on 12/21)


Local rock band Blayer Pointdujour & The Rockers Galore have shared a new video for “Dirty Kompa Party,” a single off of the group’s recent The Villain EP.  The video follows Pointdujour around town, alternating the neighborhood shots with clips of the band in a rehearsal space and at a nightclub.  The Rockers Galore are set to open for internationally acclaimed Haitian kompa duo T-Vice at The TLA on December 21st; tickets and information can be found here.

John Francis’ City of Love Festival to benefit local church’s hospitality effort

One of the many wonderful things about the Philadelphia music community is its desire to rally around causes and make a difference in the city.  As cliched as that sounds, its true – the latest example being hometown musician John Francis‘ new City of Love Festival, benefiting Broad Street Ministry and their “Breaking Bread” hospitality initiative.  Amidst debate over whether or not outdoor meal services for the homeless should be allowed in Philadelphia, the Broad Street Ministry has created its own safe haven for the city’s homeless men and women where they can receive a hot meal and a variety of services (including medical attention, art therapy and assistance for veterans) every Thursday afternoon. 2nd Street Festival announces its 2012 lineup (includes Man Man, The Great Unknown, Blayer Pointdujour )

The annual 2nd Street Festival returns to Northern Liberties on August 5th, bringing with it a hefty and eclectic lineup ranging from Man Man‘s freaky art-rock to Blayer PointduJour and the Rockers Galore‘s body-moving kompa, and The Great Unknown‘s classic Americana.

The music portion of the day-long festival – which will also showcase local arts, crafts, and food vendors – takes place on the stage of the Piazza at Schmidt‘s, and is presented in conjunction with the Philadelphia Folksong Society. The initial lineup announced today includes:
