Their recent effort True Romance Magazines finds Tim Burton’s version of TRON with dreamy vocals dancing over an atmospheric keyboard, creating an enjoyable ’80s callout sound. Last we heard from Philly darkwave trio Blood Sound, they were getting ready to release their second record of 2015. Today, we bring you their first outing of 2016. Local indie rockers Church Girls are in the middle of a quick DC-Philly-NYC roadtrip and headline Johnny Brenda’s tonight. The band is celebrating the release of its debut full-length Thousand Lives, and to mark this milestone frontwoman Mariel Beaumont reflected on her relationship with music in Philadelphia. Philly darkwave three piece Blood Sound have just released their latest LP and are gearing up for the album release party this Friday. The record, Too Much Sun and Not Enough Gloom at the Beach, is the band’s second album this year.
