Virginia’s Eternal Summers play Kung Fu Necktie tonight with Carousel and Wrong World.  The dream / power pop trio are touring behind their 2012 sophomore album Correct Behavior.  With frontwoman Nicole Yun’s sweetly confident vocals spurred on by the aggressive guitar riffs and rhythms of drummer Daniel Cundiff and bassist Jonathan Woods, Eternal Summers blend twee and punk in an infectious and often surprising way.  Tickets and information for tonight’s 21+ show can be found here.  Below, watch their video for “Millions” from Correct Behavior.

My Morning Download: “Where Have You Gone” by Carousel


We were recently alerted to an indie pop band called Carousel from Boston. The three piece – Kevin Friedman, Tyler Cratcha amd Jackson Phillips – have an EP called 26 Allston available for free download from their site here and a few additional singles here. After a few listens to these songs it’s easy to understand why so many music bloggers and fans have fallen in love with them. Instant hooks, lush keyboards and swells of electronica energy are signature characteristics of their instantly lovable songs. if you like Passion Pit, Freelance Whales and Postal Service, Carousel are for you.
