Houndmouth is a bluesy folk-rock band hailing from Indiana, and they’re stirring up quite a buzz this year. For starters, they’re XPN’s Artist to Watch for the Month of June. From the Hills Below the City, Houndmouth’s debut album, was released on June 4, and the band performed their track “On the Road” on Conan this week as well. It’s a cheery, smile-inducing tune with a hint of country twang that you can check out below. They’ve embarked on a U.S. tour this summer, hitting a ton of music festivals on the way and making another late-night TV appearance, this time on the Late Show with Dave Letterman. Houndsmouth played World Cafe Life this past April, and as of now they have no Philly tour stops in the near future (we’ll keep our fingers crossed, though).
