Since releasing their fourth LP, Dear Miss Lonelyhearts back in April, Cold War Kids have embarked on a massive US tour that will have them hitting up Philly several times.  Dear Miss Lonelyhearts has proven itself to be a lively fourth album, with aid from new guitarist Dann Gallucci (formerly of Modest Mouse) and a spacious and exciting new sound.  It will be great to hear them blasting out these new tunes and old favorites when they return to Union Transfer on October 19th; tickets to the all ages show are $23, head over to the band’s site for more tour info.

Royal Shoals playing with The Bats tomorrow at Johnny Brenda’s

RoyalShoalsA few months ago, Philly band Royal Shoals released their solid second EP Surrounderer +3 as a pay-what-you-want download on Bandcamp.  For the EP, Royal Shoals have found influence ranging from punk to pop to new wave, creating a sharp, danceable sound all their own.  Tomorrow, they’re set to play Johnny Brenda’s with New Zealand rock band The Bats, who released their latest full-length Free All the Monsters back in 2011.  With such amazing acts, this is one Tuesday show you don’t want to miss.  You can find out more information about the concert here. Check out “Life’s A Boy” from Surrounderer +3 below.
