The Dean Ween Group recently stopped by XPN studios for a World Cafe session with David Dye. A rotating cast of characters fronted by Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo himself, the band played music from The Deaner Album, an nod to Melchiondo’s roots in 80s / 90s New Hope alt-rock band Ween. They also resurrected that band’s slow jam, “Freedom of ’76,” incorporating the song’s traditional falsettos beautifully by having vocalist Carol Brooks take the reigns. Continue reading →

Yes, the Pope is here. Many people have left town for a long-weekend vacation but if you’re staying put, you may be happy to know that things will be business as usual for many Philly area venues, including the ones below.

Dean Ween is taking his Group out on tour again, hitting Trenton’s Capital Green for the Levitt AMP Trenton Music Series. This iternation of the iconic Philly area band features four of the five original Ween members and plays mostly Ween songs, with some Dean originals mixed in.
