Like Michael Kiwanuka, Halifax based singed-songwriter Erin Costelo draws on old soul and classic R&B and puts a fresh acoustic and sometimes jazzy take on the genres. Her new album, We Can Get Over, is gorgeous and soulful; her evocative voice is center stage and her songs draw on the likes of The Impressions and The Dells, the arrangements of Bachrach/David and the memory of 60′s AM radio classics. It won’t be long until the world discovers her incredible talents; download “Oh Me Oh My” from her album below.
