The newly opened Fillmore Philly continues to draw impressive acts from around the country and now they look to our neighbors in the north for what promises to be an energetic and lively performance from Metric.
The longtime indie-rockers released their sixth studio album, Pagans In Vegas, back in September and showcased its songs for a Philly crowd at the Made in America festival. The album serves as yet another example of a group who is dead set on constantly evolving their already-impressive sound. Not satisfied with simply resting on their laurels — though at this point they surely could — Metric is gaining new fans by the day while staying true to want has worked so well in the past. For the first time in over two decades, the Philadelphia Music Alliance hosted a evening gala to celebrate its newest inductees at the new Fillmore last night. Earlier in the day a ceremony was held to unveil their plaques, Hollywood Walk of Fame-style, in the Broad Street sidewalk along Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts on Broad Street. The gala, however, was a chance for some of the biggest names in Philly music history to fix up and look sharp to personally honor the new inductees. Continue reading →
