Celebrate the sound of a neighborhood with For the Love of Germantown album release

On Sunday, October 30th, Germantown will be the center of attention thanks to a new collaborative album recorded in its honor. For the last year, the Philadelphia Jazz Project and Germantown United Community Development Corporation have been working with local musicians to create a sort of musical love letter to their neighborhood called For the Love of Germantown, featuring a collection of original songs and standards performed by over a dozen artists.

Kuf Knotz and others to perform at the inaugural Heartwood Music Festival

The Philadelphia Folksong Society and Awbury Arboretum are hosting the first-ever Heartwood Music Festival on Sunday, July 12.

From 11a.m. to 6 p.m., you can browse various food and craft booths and listen to local music. The Festival is being held amongst the meadows and trees on the stunning grounds of Germantown’s Awbury Arboretum. Spend a day of summer the right way – by relaxing and enjoying a great lineup of Philly-area artists.

This lineup includes the fast-emerging crossover artist Kuf Knotz. Leaving no musical territory unexplored, he has opened for top acts of all genres – including The Wailers, Dr. Dog, Amos Lee, and The Roots, among many others. Continue reading →
