Local rockers Heavy Medical play tonight at The First Unitarian Church.  In a classic case of “which came first?” it’s easy to speculate on whether the relentless thrashing of the duo’s sound was inspired by the band name or if it was the other way around.  Regardless, Heavy Medical will bring the heavy vibes of their pair of releases to the Church tonight alongside Ghostlimb, Plague Dogs and Xanax.  Tickets and information can be found here.  Below, watch Heavy Medical perform “Do Over” from Modern Drill live.

Philly-area outfit Vintage Kicks will be at Kung Fu Necktie tonight, opening up for Glitter Freeze alongside Ang & the Damn Band.  Vintage Kicks are the surf rockers who were named The Deli Philly’s Best New Artist of 2011 and things have only gone up from there – last month the Kicks were featured on The Bloomsbury Coalition‘s first split Copycats b/w New Jersey indie band SCOOBA.  Tickets and information for tonight’s 21+ show can be found here; below, listen Vintage Kicks’ contribution to the split and download it here.
