After an amazing time curating our Red Bull Sound Select last night with Bilal, we’re psyched to see the lineup announcement for next month’s installment. Curated by Veteran Freshman, the September 17 show at Underground Arts is headlined by singer / songwriter / dancer triple-threat GoGo Morrow.  She has been pretty busy lately with her catchy single “Like A Trap Boy” being released a couple weeks ago and a handful of performances scheduled throughout the fall.  She’ll be joined on the 17th by fellow Philly artists Joie Kathos – a rapper who just released the FLOATERS EP – and singer Rosemary Fiki, DJ Diamond Kuts and Sonny the Host. The very talented Philadelphian GoGo Morrow got her start as a backing singer and dancer on tour with Lady GaGa, but these past few years she’s been stepping out onto her own. This week, she dropped the polished street anthem “Like A Trap Boy.” Taking on the Philly streets on the back of decked out street bikes and T-rex’s, Morrow sings of longing and enjoying the company of a hustler – not unlike Destiny Child’s “Soldier.”  The inviting hop-hop / pop tune produced by Rap1220 allows Morrow’s vocals and choreography to stand out, showing her whole repertoire in a video shot around the city. Check it out below. Continue reading →

“GoGo Yubari’s character was an innocent-faced, assassin that you never saw coming. The same holds true for me as an artist. People never see me coming but I’m here and I’m a triple threat as a singer, writer, and dancer. I’m always up for a challenge.”- GoGo Morrow

Anyone who isn’t from Philly probably can’t see GoGo Morrow coming, but if you’re from Philly, you know about this rising R&B star. And if you didn’t, you should. From the moment you press play on any of her Soundcloud tracks, you not only can hear the talent this lady has but you can visualize her success in the future. Continue reading →

Philly’s americana rock group Hoots and Hellmouth play Johnny Brenda’s tonight, before they venture down the east coast and into the midwest. With a back-catalog of three full-lengths, including 2011’s Salt, the four-piece recently released two new songs via Bandcamp.
