Philly noisepop duo Gypsy Death and You are preparing to release their latest batch of shoegaze-inspired recordings, EP No. 2. The five-song set is amped, gauzy and infectious, and this week the band gave us a taste of what’s in store with a new track called “Ghosts.” Listen to it below, and get more info on Gypsy Death and You’s September 28 EP release show at South Philly art space Cha Cha’razzi at the show’s Facebook event page.

Meet Gypsy Death And You
Gypsy Death and You are Alex Wilson and Emily Cahill, an indie-pop duo with a fondness for reverb, catchy choruses, and noisy guitars. They met as students at Drexel University (both are in the music program); the band name comes from a line in The Velvet Underground song “Run Run Run.” (The Kills’ song “Gypsy Death And You” is also inspired by the same line.) The band’s most recent show was a week and a half ago at Danger Danger Gallery; the band has yet to post any information about future shows (but says that some are in the works). You can check out the three-song EP no. 1 via the duo’s BandCamp page, or give them a listen below.
