Honey Radar celebrate the release of Blank Cartoon at Kung Fu Necktie tonight, the latest album in an extensive catalog of psych rock recordings. LP cut “Caterpillar” was the first sampling of the new songs, shared back in March as a follow-up to 2015’s The Cop’s Dream cassette. It’s a low-fi, classic sounding nugget of psychedelia with vocals that mirror Donovan at points. Check it out below and pick up tickets to the 21+ release show here.
The band Honey Radar are back with a psychedelic single off of their latest EP The Cop’s Dream. The single “Bird Bath Math” includes remote vocals from lead singer Jason Henn and a catchy, clangy guitar riff. The second track off of the six track EP, this one’s a pretty good listen. Honey Radar will be playing at PhilaMOCA on the 28th of August, more information can be found at the venue’s website. Below, give a listen to “Bird Bath Math,” and check out the band’s extensive back-catalog at Bandcamp; they play a Folkadelphia-presents show at Bourbon and Branch on September 24th, more information can be found here. Honey Radar, fronted by Jason Henn, has a six song collection, Mary Plum Musket that is available digitally here, or on a limited edition cassette here from the fine folks at Treetop Sorbet. You can’t help but notice the Guided By Voices-meets-Byrds-meets-Velvet Underground-meets-Them lo-fi influences which, probably, make the cassette version more appropriate to own. Listen below.
