Fans of Robyn Hitchcock are probably used to the feeling of wide-eyed amazement they get whenever they watch the English singer-songwriter perform live on stage. (After all, dude was in The Soft Boys—and his extensive solo career is nothing to scoff at, either.) But what about seeing Hitchcock reminisce about his own musical heroes with that same expression of bug-eyed wonder and idolatry? Such will likely be the case tonight, when he shares the stage with legendary producer Joe Boyd; Boyd will read from his memoir, White Bicycles: Making Music In The 1960s—which chronicles his experiences working with acts such as Nick Drake, Fairport Convention, and The Incredible String Band—while Hitchcock provides the musical accompaniment. Robyn Hitchcock performs with Joe Boyd at 7:30 p.m. at World Cafe Live; tickets are $35-$45.
