Juliana Hatfield‘s got a few words to share on the current political climate, and she’s not letting any go unsaid in her upcoming album, Pussycat. Case in point: her new single, “Short-Fingered Man,” in which Hatfield directly trolls Trump without ever needing to utter his name.

Hatfield’s video for the song showcases her dancing like a fearless hooligan in a narrow hallway. Filming all of the footage herself, the video serves as a lighthearted and funny, small victory dance against the current administration.  Continue reading →

The Juliana Hatfield Three headline the first of two nights at Boot & Saddle tonight. Returning to the original line-up from the early nineties, the band released its first record in over two decades with this year’s Whatever, My Love. The current tour, though, is billed as a celebration of the 21st anniversary of Become What You Are and has the group performing their seminal debut in its entirety. My Morning Download: “Buried Plans” by Minor Alps (Juliana Hatfield and Matthew Caws of Nada Surf; playing World Cafe Live 11/22)

minoralps Minor Alps is a new collaboration between Juliana Hatfield (Blake Babies, Lemonheads) and Matthew Caws of Nada Surf.  They release their debut, Get There, on October 29th.  The first single, “Buried Plans” is a mellow affair, featuring the two harmonizing over a quiet acoustic guitar and some atmospheric drums. Download the song below.
