The Lawsuits were our featured artists for this week’s Key Studio Session. Highlighting tracks from their upcoming debut LP, the rootsy band recorded four songs, alternating between the upbeat, rocking numbers we know and love them for and the more reserved and beautifully arranged slower tracks that appeared on their recent Numbers EP. Who is k.s. Rhoads?. He’s a singer. He’s a songwriter. He’s a producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Nashville. He’s a man of many musical hats, a connector and collaborator with some of Nashville’s finest musicians. Sometimes even the guys behind the scenes need to step out on their own, as Rhoads has done with his new album The Wilderness out today. It’s been five years since Rhoads released his debut album. In 2012, Rhoads won the prestigious ASCAP Foundation Sammy Cahn award, joining a group of some of our favorite songwriters including John Mayer, Josh Ritter, Katie Herzig and Philly’s very own John Francis.
