UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, tonight’s Ingrid Michaelson show will be moved from The Mann’s skyline stage to the amphitheater. Seating for the show will be general admission.

Pop / rock fave Ingrid Michaelson released her sixth album, Lights Out, just about a year ago, and tonight she brings the latest leg of tour in support of it to The Mann Center for her biggest Philly headlining show to date. The album is full of catchy jams, from “Girls Chase Boys” and “Afterlife” to “Time Machine.” Joining her on the bill tonight is perennial piano-led power trio, Jukebox The Ghost. Meet the Kansas Bible Company, download “Elysees 99, 84”

They’re not from Kansas and they don’t sing gospel. Based in Nashville, Kansas Bible Company is a 12-piece band originally from Goshen, Indiana – the city made immortal in Strand of Oaks’ 2014 hit “Goshen 97.” The band formed in 2008 when several of its members, including lead singer Jake Miller, met at Goshen College. They took their name from the movie Paper Moon, starring Ryan O’Neal as a bible salesman named Moses Pray. Continue reading →

Tonight’s Concert Picks: The Interest Group at Johnny Brenda’s, Donovan Wolfington at The Fire and Kansas Bible Company at MilkBoy

The Interest Group will bring their melodic, psych-pop vibes to Johnny Brenda’s tonight to open for Beat Culture and Blackbird Blackbird.  The foursome is returning to the stage after debuting some new tracks over a month ago at Underground Arts.  If you are looking for a relaxing evening zoning out to some chill ambient pop tunes, then definitely stop by.  Doors open at 8 pm for the 21+ show.  Find tickets for $10 here.
