Their cover of Fleetwood Mac’s brass band anthem “Tusk” has become a concert staple for Nashville rockers Kopecky. For their performance at this year’s XPoNential Music Festival, they did it up in style, with frontman Gabe Simon leaping into the crowd with a trombone. XPN favorites Kopecky returned to Wiggins park this year for the XPoNential Music Festival – and though they only played one set this time, it was a knockout.

The band covered The Weeknd’s hit “I Can’t Feel My Face” and delivered a strong mix of cuts from their debut Kids Raising Kids and the new Drug for the Modern Age, not to mention their trademark rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s “Tusk.”  Continue reading →

XPNFest Recap: Kopecky makes triumphant return to the Marina Stage

After rocking the Marina Stage so hard back in 2013 that they were moved up for a surprise set at the River Stage, Kopecky returned to the Marina for XPoNential 2015, this time with a whole new crop of songs to show off.

Coming off May’s Drug for the Modern Age, Kopecky started off with standout “My Love” from the new album. After hitting on a few tracks from their debut full length Kids Raising Kids, Gabe Simon and co. jumped into album single “Quarterback”, which was naturally preceeded by an Eagles chant. Nashville rockers Kopecky released their sophomore album Drugs For The Modern Age earlier this year to critical acclaim. Singer / guitarist Gabe Simon described the record by saying it “was written in this weird time of so much pain but also happiness, and that really informed the writing and recording.”  Those emotions are channeled into a new, energized live session video for their single “Talk To Me,” which you can watch below. Fun, heartfelt, and empowering, the band and single are something to look forward to at this years XPoNential Music Festival.
