The theme of this week’s Friday Morning mixtape is “Sample Examples,” an hour long mix of original songs and the samples of those songs used by musicians. An example of this is Warren G and Nate Dogg’s sample of Michael McDonald’s “I Keep Forgettin’. In doing some research for the hour of music, we used Who Sampled.com as a reference, an incredible website and database of information about sample-based music, cover songs and remixes.

Meet Kristen Kurtis, WXPN’s new Morning Show host

Kristen Kurtis has been named the new Morning Show host at WXPN. She’ll start mornings on XPN with Bob Bumbera in early October. The Downingtown native is returning to the Philly from her recent job as Midday Host, Assistant Program Director, and Music Director at Austin’s KGSR where she’s been for the last four years.
