My Morning Download: “Goldmine” by La Maison Tellier

The French band La Maison Tellier is an acoustic based rock band with country and folk influences featuring brothers Raoul and Helmut Tellier. The band started in 2004 when they released a swampy, bluesy cover of Rage Against The Machine’s “Killing In The Name Of,” and have since released several albums. Singing in French and English, there are faint echoes of the Seventies Southern California harmonies in the band’s music, whispers of Celtic influences, and a wide breadth of instrumentation including banjos, trumpets and various percussion. With several albums to their credit in France, La Maison Tellier bring to mind The Band, Son Volt, and Grant Lee Buffalo and are currently working on their full length American release. From it, download “Goldmine.”
