Toronto electronic pop outfit LIGHTS (the stage name of Valerie Anne Poxleitner) played The TLA on the tail end of promoting her 2011 release Siberia. Opening the show was fellow Ontarians Arkells; check out a photo recap in the gallery above.
Toronto’s LIGHTS will take the stage at The TLA tonight. Lights Poxleitner reached early success with a Best New Artist Juno Award in 2008 but hasn’t let the pressure of living up to expectations hold her back musically. Her latest record, Siberia, is a step in the experimental direction and infuses dub-step drops with her usual pop-oriented melodies for a grittier final product. LIGHTS performs alongside Arkells at tonight’s all-ages show. Tickets are $15 and doors open at 7:00 p.m., more information here. Below, watch LIGHTS’ latest video for “Timing is Everything.”
