Lindi Ortega announces tour; playing The Tin Angel on 2/1

Toronto-via-Nashville darling Lindi Ortega has announced a North American tour supporting her sophomore album Cigarettes and Truckstops this winter which includes a performance at the Tin Angel Friday, February 1st. The songbird – whose sweet, bluesy vocals earned her a nomination for the JUNO award for her first record, Little Red Boots – has appeared on this season of ABC’s “Nashville.” Earlier this month we featured Ortega’s single “Don’t Wanna Hear It” as part of our My Morning Download series here, where you can also stream Cigarettes and Truckstops in its entirety. Toronto singer-songwriter Lindi Ortega is a lot of country and a lot of rock ‘n’ roll. Her new album, Cigarettes & Truckstops – on Last Gang Records – is pure roots music gold; filled with country, rockabilly – even a bit of the blues. For ten strong songs Ortega sings passionately, sweetly, seductively and sometimes not too happily about broken hearts, distant lovers, the rights and the wrongs of love. She’s currently out on tour opening for Social Distortion and plays the Electric Factory tomorrow evening, Saturday, November 3rd. Go here for tickets to the show. Below, download “Don’t Wanna Hear It,” and stream Lindi’s new album. You can purchase the record here.
