Menomena releases new track, “Heavy As Heavy Does”; playing Union Transfer in October

Portland indie rockers Menomena have just released a new single from their forthcoming album Moms, which is due out September 18th. “Heavy As Heavy Does” is just that, a weighty exposition of piano, emotion, and fuzzed-out guitar. The song lays out a critical view of familial relations, a primary theme of the band’s fifth album. Menomena will play Union Transfer on Wednesday October 10th, at 8:30. Tickets are available for $15 here. Below, stream “Heavy As Heavy Does,” from Moms. Also, be sure to listen to Menomena’s World Cafe Live session from 2010.
