Philly Local Philes (+ Tonight’s Concert Pick): Look Out Houston’s “Band”

The cover of Look Out Houston’s debut EP, The American Standards, is vaguely reminiscent of the color wheel happy album art to The Rapture’s Echoes. But this new Philly rock foursome deals not in bombastic dance-punk, but boisterous music of another stripe: think 90s indie, Superchunk, Pavement, GBV and so on. Led by singer-guitarist Dan Wisniewski (also of The Quelle Source), Look Out Houston plays World Café Live tonight, and this Philly Phile focuses on their überdescript first single, “Band.”
