After releasing a self-titled album earlier this fall, The Weather Station bring their folk-rooted tunes to Boot & Saddle tonight. The project of Toronto-based songwriter Tamara Lindeman, The Weather Station is known for its energetic and forthright yet soft and delicate sounds. The latest release, the project’s fourth LP, is perhaps its boldest yet — though Lindeman refers to it as a “rock and roll” record, it still maintains its laid-back folk vibes. James Elkington also plays tonight’s show. Tonight’s Concert Picks: Cults at The TLA, Communion Club Night featuring Rosco Bandana at Underground Arts, Myrrias at Ortliebs and more

Indie-pop duo Cults will take to the TLA stage tonight. The New York natives released their sophomore album Static in October on Columbia Records and it has impressed fans and critics. Bullet Magazine recently included “So Far” from the new record on their “Indisputable, Definitive Best 53 Songs of 2013” list.
