Folk-pop band Lovers League released their self titled debut last week. Earlier this year, the band released the single “Cowboy”. The band was formed by singers Dani Mari and Reverend TJ McGlinchey. Primarily singing as a duet, Reverned TJ McGlinchey’s jangly blues makes the perfect accompaniment to Dani Mari’s vintage pop.
Starting off with the incredibly catchy “Cowboy”, the album alternates between fast tempo folk songs and slowed down pop ballads. Lovers League is a sweet expansion on the theme of young, infatuated love. In particular, listening to “Take Me To An Island” is like taking an island honeymoon. Overall, the album has a summery, sweet sound, perfect for a band called Lovers League. Listen to the track below.
The group will be performing at the 2nd Street Festival. Get more details here. Listen to “Take Me To An Island” below.

The track highlights Mari and McGlinchey’s catchy harmonies backed by a bluesy bass line and folksy guitar work embodying the best of both singers’ vibes. The band will host a single release party to share more new music on October 26th at Connie’s Ric Rac.
