Drexel’s night of “Philly Radness” features Queen of Jeans, Hemming, and an interactive skatepark

The Leonard Pearlstein Gallery and Mad Dragon Media will be bringing their “musical concept event” Philly Radness to the Gallery on Tuesday, April 19th at 6:30 pm, which will include performances from Queen of Jeans, Hemming, and a yet-to-be-announced secret opener.

Philly Radness is part of the Phenomenal Radness Project, started by Miami-based artist Eric Cade Schoenborn, that brings together technology, skateboarding, and art. Schoenborn is joining forces with Ed Selego and Philly’s Chris Mulhern to turn the Gallery into an “interactive pop-up skatepark.” Continue reading →

Drexel University students rejuvenate classic Philly R&B music

Drexel University is heading an exciting initiative to reinvigorate the famous “Philly Groove Records,” an R&B and soul music collection from the renowned Sigma Sounds and Philly Groove Labels that is filled with many unfinished musical works.

Students from the school are taking these unfinished pieces and bringing them back to life by completing and releasing the songs into the public. Continue reading →
