Violinist, singer and composer Kishi Bashi performs at the First Unitarian Church tonight. Using his violin as a starting point, Bashi creates entirely new universes in his compositions with swirling loop sequences, layered vocals and atmospheric synth backdrops. In addition to touring and collaborating with of Montreal, Regina Spektor, The Barr Brothers and Sondre Lerche, the Seattle native takes his sonic creations to new heights with occasional solo recordings like 2012′s 151a LP. Low Cut Connie will be performing tonight at Johnny Brenda’s promoting the September release of their sophomore album, Call Me Sylvia. The band’s rollicking party music is carried by poppy melodies and sharp lyrics that make any bar scene the best party in town. XPN Welcomes The Wallflowers to the Trocadero tonight. The Grammy award-winning rock band are touring in support of the recent release of their sixth studio album, Glad All Over. The fact that their forthcoming album release date got pushed back by a few months should give you even more incentive to see Philly’s Bleeding Rainbow tonight at Johnny Brenda’s. The punk quartet will no doubt be playing tracks from Yeah Right (which comes out on January 29th through Kanine Records) when they take the stage with Far-Out Fangtooth and Heavy Medical.
