Dom Angelella and Eric Slick’s long running side project Lithuania takes center stage this year with the release of Hardcore Friends, their long-in-the-works debut. The punk’d out frenzy of an LP is out this week on Lame-O Records and the band celebrates tonight with a headlining show at Boot and Saddle. Tonight’s Concert Picks: XPN Welcomes Erin McKeown to Johnny Brenda’s, Pet Milk at Ortlieb’s, Neurosis at Union Transfer

XPN welcomes Erin McKeown to Johnny Brenda’s tonight.  The singer-songwriter released MANIFESTRA through her own label TVP Records last week, an album featuring friends Anais Mitchell, David Wax Museum,  Ryan Montbleau and Polly Paulusma.  MANIFESTRA continues to blend the singer-songwriter’s many-faceted influences, from swing to pop to rock.  Aside from being a musician, McKeown is a political activist and was chosen to be a 2011-2012 fellow at Harvard University’s Berkman Center for Internet and Society.  Tickets and information for tonight’s 21+ show with Jenn Grant can be found here. Just Announced: Neurosis playing Union Transfer on 1/20

Psychedelic metal fans, take note: Neurosis – the long-standing Oakland five-piece – just announced a string of winter tour dates that brings them to Union Transfer on Sunday, January 20. This is their first Philadelphia appearance since a November 2004 appearance at the Theater of Living Arts; ticket information will be announced shortly.
