Nuevofest brings lineup of Latin American artists to World Cafe Live

Get your dancing shoes ready because Nuevofest, the annual festival celebrating the sounds of Latin American music, returns next month. Now in its seventh year, the festival is part of XPN’s Latin Roots project in collaboration with AfroTiano Productions, and each year features a different lineup of contemporary Latin alternative artists spanning many cultures and genres. On Sunday evening, July 12th, six Latin alternative bands packed into balcony room at The Trocadero in Chinatown for Nuevofest 2015, as part of Latin Roots Live!

The series is inspired by the bi-weekly World Cafe radio series Latin Roots, in which World Cafe host David Dye explores a variety of music from Spanish-speaking countries and people, from cumbia, mambo and son to Latin rock, reggaeton. Tonight, AfroTaino productions and World Cafe’s Latin Roots Live concert series join forces to present Nuevofest at The Trocadero. Seven bands with roots in Venezuela, Mexico, the Dominican Republic an the U.S. will perform, from El Salvador ska six-piece Adhesivo to Trenton hip-hop duo Agudos Clef.
