The Columbus, Ohio pop band Saintseneca released their latest album Dark Arc in March and have just begun a tour that brings them to Johnny Brenda’s tomorrow night, June 4th. Go here for tickets. Saintseneca have been described as “folk-inspired post punk…informed by Appalachian mountain music and the explosive recklessness of punk.” On the band’s songs, light acoustic touches brush up against dark hues of sounds and energetic bursts of noise are swept back in control by catchy melodies. One of the best examples of this is “Happy Alone,” that you download below via NPR Music’s Heavy Rotation.
