Inspiration meets experimentation on Bucks County pop-punk band Scuzbot‘s latest release Cubito Aequet, out earlier this summer. With a sound that coexists in the realms of ’90s alternative and grunge, as well as modern day pop punk, this new album is a bright offering, filled to the brim with musical influences carefully crafted together to create a one-of-a-kind collection of sounds. Within the album’s seven songs you’ll hear hints of Weezer, the basslines and backup vocals of Kerplunk! era Green Day, and the lightheartedness of Blink-182 sans the toilet humor lyricism. With a grab bag of styles from the greats, Scuzbot takes out the very best pieces, using them to brew together a wholly original tracklisting infused with their own struggles and realities. Scuzbot will Rollerblade its way into your hearts in the new “Washed Up” video

There’s something familiar about Bensalem natives Scuzbot. Their sound is very late ’90s/early ’00s pop-punk (think Lit and Blink-182). In their new video, Scuzbot present themselves as a group of fun and carefree guys as they sing about a girl who “washed up on her island” over a grunge-y guitar riff. You can’t help but find the Rollerblading, pogo stick hopping, and ring-pop appreciation endearing. Download their self-titled album for free here and watch “Washed Up”.
