Tera Melos share acoustic version of “Weird Circles” (playing the First Unitarian Church on 11/1)

Following two sold out dates at The Fire last May, Tera Melos will be back in Philly on November 1st for a show at the First Unitarian Church. The technically-minded experimental punk trio out of Sacramento released their fourth full-length X’ed Out earlier this year, a blistering jaunt into prog-infused math rock that alternates moments of even-keeled melody with doom-y freak-outs.  Guitarist / vocalist Nick Reinhart recently played around with an acoustic guitar and recorded an acoustic version of X’ed Out lead track “Weird Circles.”  Listen to the acoustic version below, followed by the album track.  Tickets and information for Tera Melos’ all-ages show with Fang Island and Zorch can be found here.

Tera Melos premiere new track “Sunburn” on Noisey (playing two shows at The Fire on 5/3)

Tera_Melos_at_The_Smell_Los_Angeles_CA_February19_2010Northern California experimentalist / fusion band Tera Melos are in high demand right now – their date at The Fire on May 5th sold out in 24 hours and the venue added a second earlier show to satisfy fans of the fast-paced, totally out- there but totally tight trio.  This week, Noisey premiered the first track from Tera Melos’ new album X’ed Out (set for release on April 16th via Sargent House).  “Sunburn” is a little less manic and more traditionally structured than their earlier recordings, but it doesn’t lose the band’s wily disregard for genre boundaries.  And guitarist / vocalist Nick Reinhart still catapults into the impossibly intricate solos Tera Melos has become known for.  Tickets and information for the early May 5th show at The Fire with This Town Needs Guns can be found here.  Stream “Sunburn” from the upcoming LP below.
