Sure, when newspapers aren’t busy slashing editorial budgets or laying off staffers, they’re usually declaring bankruptcy. Luckily for The Onion, however, the fake-news industry is (relatively) alive and well—enough so that they’ll be bringing The Onion and The A.V. Club to Philadelphia sometime in the not-to-distant future. The news was officially announced earlier today, when The A.V. Club posted an ad for the Philadelphia City Editor position, which will be in charge of all local-arts-and-entertainment-related coverage for the print edition of the paper as well as The A.V. Club‘s Philly-centric A&E website.
I can hear the masses of unemployed (and, in some cases, employed-but-disgruntled) editorial types tailoring their resumes for the position as I type this.
