After the release of her double EP, A Sea of Split Peas, in 2013, Courtney Barnett has been gathering quite a following. Pitchfork commended the Australian artist for her witty lyrics and a personality that gives her music a backbone, and she appeared in a great interview on NPR’s World Cafe as well.

Stop The Presses: The Onion and The A.V. Club coming to Philadelphia

the onionSure, when newspapers aren’t busy slashing editorial budgets or laying off staffers, they’re usually declaring bankruptcy. Luckily for The Onion, however, the fake-news industry is (relatively) alive and well—enough so that they’ll be bringing The Onion and The A.V. Club to Philadelphia sometime in the not-to-distant future. The news was officially announced earlier today, when The A.V. Club posted an ad for the Philadelphia City Editor position, which will be in charge of all local-arts-and-entertainment-related coverage for the print edition of the paper as well as The A.V. Club‘s Philly-centric A&E website.

I can hear the masses of unemployed (and, in some cases, employed-but-disgruntled) editorial types tailoring their resumes for the position as I type this.
