Philly smooth-fi heads Work Drugs are getting ready to release their latest LP, Delta, on limited edition yellow vinyl. Preorders are available here, and will ship the second week of December. The eleven-song set is made up of the cream of the crop of singles that Tom Crystal and Ben Louisiana have rocked in the digital space for the past two years. But for those who haven’t been following the band as crazily as we have, a premier album stream care of The Hype Machine will give you a taste of what Delta has to offer. I’m particularly stoked that “The Art of Progress” and “Ice Wharf” made the cut, and it of course kicks off with old favorites “Third Wave” and “Rad Racer.” Check it out in the player below, get more info on Work Drugs’ album release show at Ortlieb’s on December 8 here – and if you frequent The Hype Machine, follow The Key’s page here.
The Hype Machine
XPN Welcomes electro-pop/rock band Yeasayer to Union Transfer tonight. The group is currently touring in support of their third album, Fragrant World, which was released in August. The band’s psychedelic sound draws a mix of influences from electronic music, folk, and world rhythms, heard best on the 2010 release of Odd Blood, which skyrocketed their reputation, even earning the title of 2010′s most-blogged artist on The Hype Machine. Go here for more information about tonight’s all-ages performance; doors open at 8. Below, watch Yeasayer’s new video for “Longevity” from Fragrant World.
