Gloomy post-punks The Stammer are back with two new songs from their forthcoming album, Days in Between.

The songs “The Storm” and “Kate & Chris” stand in sharp contrast to each other, but both show off the sonic capabilities of the band. As was revealed in their Key Studio Session write-up this week, the members of RFA were still in high school when we discovered their EP Just Don’t Turn the Lights On last year. They also didn’t make the cut for their school’s Battle of the Bands, which baffled us. As they showcase on their session, this band knows how to make a jam. Check out “Teenage Love Song” below and get the full set here. They’ll play Mantua Yacht Club with Steady Hands, Roof Doctor, Castle of Genre and Matty Carlock on June 5th.

Check out a fuzzy live single from The Stammer (playing The Fire on 7/24)

the stammer

The Stammer is a new four-piece out of Philly that make fuzzed-out rock with just a splash of punk thrown into the mix. Last February, the group released their self-titled debut EP which seems to blend The Cure and The Talking Heads with a punk edge on songs like “Same Lines” and “The Last Time.”  Earlier this week, the group released a live single featuring a cover of The Velvet Underground’s “Femme Fatale” and a live version of “Same Lines.”  And while the cover isn’t exactly their strongest moment, the live version of “Same Lines” really shows off the band’s live skills and their unique sound, which you can dig further into on The Stammer EP.  Check out “Same Lines” below and if you like what you hear you can watch The Stammer play live and in person at The Fire July 24th.
